BE A MAZED!
In summer 2014 work started to tidy up the raised beds in the Park “maze”. This is to be carried out by Maymoor Landscapes who are donating some of the materials. There is nobody on the Pocket Park Committee with particularly green fingers. Please get in touch if you might be able to help us look after this space more effectively.
Sadly, the lovely wooden playhouse that went into the new play area was torched by vandals about 18 months after it was installed. Raising money to replace this is a project for 2014. Hopefully, we will have a new house for small children ready for spring/summer 2015.
Our Community Spaces grant allowed us to pay local farmer and expert hedge layer Phil Bott to give the overgrown hedges on the Park’s perimeter some much-needed TLC. This is a job that has to be done in stages to allow wildlife – in particular birds – chance to adapt and settle. Two large sections of hedge have now been tackled. The remainder and future management of the hedgerows is an ongoing project.
